Many people are choosing to retire early leaving years of adventures to be had - why not spend them in an RV?

1. Visit Family Members:

It is not as common as it once was for multiple generations to remain in the same town - or even in the same state. With immediate and extended family members spread around the country, it can be difficult to keep close relationships even with extensive technology. Living in an RV means cross-country travel can be affordable and stress free. Not having the need to pack, cancel mail, or have a neighbor water the plants and feed the pets means traveling last minute if necessary and having all the comforts of home ready to go.

Staying in a family member's home often means overstaying a short welcome, but parking an RV in the driveway gives everyone their personal space. Having the ability to let grandchildren stay the night or always being able to have a beloved pet alongside are perks to traveling in a recreational vehicle.

2. Minimal Space to Clean and Maintain:

Having a 5 bedroom home may be the perfect size for a large family, but when children have moved out and only 1 or 2 are left in the house, it can be an overwhelming space to maintain. Climbing stairs may become difficult and hiring people to mow the lawn or shovel the driveway can become expensive. Living in an RV means having all the comforts of a large home without the upkeep. RV kitchens are large enough to make gourmet meals, king size beds are as comfortable as in any home, and electronics fit effortlessly in the design.

3. Home Becomes Mobile:

When the mood strikes to drive through New England to watch the leaves change color or to head south for just the perfect amount of heat and sunshine, nothing beats having a home on wheels to pick up and head out. There is no need to meet with a travel agent and struggle to find available hotel rooms or cheap flights. If emergency weather is expected or a family members suddenly needs assistance, living in an RV means having the benefit of being able to go where ever wanted or needed without the hassle of travel plans or cost of last minute reservations.

4. Save Money:

While the cost of an RV can reach hundreds of thousands of dollars, large and comfortable units are available anywhere from $15,000 to $100,000. Retiring to an RV is an option for any budget. After removing the expenses of having multiple cars, heating and cooling a large home, maintenance of a yard and house and the added cost of traditional travel - simplifying material possessions and creating a home in an RV leaves money to do the things that really matter in life.

5. See the World:

Not only are the entire lower 48 states open for years of travel, but RV tours and caravans, as well as solo or casual travel with RVing friends, open up the globe for adventures and experiences. RVs can go to many exotic and unique destinations allowing for the ultimate trip with the comfort of home. Watching eagles in Alaska and whales in Canada by day and heading back to a familiar bed at night makes for an amazing way to spend retirement.
