While my family owns a pop-up trailer, we also spend much of our summer vacations in my in-laws travel trailer. The need to organize is important for both sizes and can be done using the same plan.
The method for organizing an RV that I describe in Organize Interior RV Storage Space is a rather simple principle. Sort all things paper related in a binder, making sure to catalog available space and what is being held in that space.
When we first bought our pop-up, I was thrilled to fill it with all of our camp supplies. When I first approached the task, I wasn't planning on having a method at first, unusual for me, and when I started the process I realized I should have stayed with my typical approach. When I carried all of our supplies out from storage to begin putting them away in the camper, I ended up with both beds full of stuff and random items left outside. As I started to sort the items based on what they are used for, I realized I really needed to get a system in place or I was going to forget what I had already put into the RV and where I had placed it.
It was at this point that I began to sketch out the floor plan of the camper and where I had places to store things and about how much room was available. So was born my way of organizing RVs - drawing pictures of what the interior space looks like, labeling each area, and making an itinerary of what is inside. Once I gathered all of my RV documents and put them together in a binder, it is all I need to plan a fun weekend or extended vacation.
