While Michigan's Irish Hills are a great place for summer activities, outdoor fans still have much to enjoy during the winter months.

Hayes State Park in Onsted, Michigan is not only a great place to visit in the summer for fun on the lake, but year round. The Irish Hills of Michigan offer much to do and see in each season. Having the ability to travel in a self-contained RV opens up a wide range of opportunities, even if it‘s snowing.

With winter well underway, snowmobiling, skiing, and hunting are popular cold weather sports available around Hayes State Park. Now that we are in the midst of Michigan’s deer hunting season, outdoors enthusiasts from around the country are enjoying trips north to participate in a variety of winter sporting activities.

When the cool weather of spring welcomes birdwatchers and the fall foliage beckons travelers to take a tour, it’s no wonder this area is one of my family’s favorite places to travel.

Being in a family of race fans and having small children make it an ideal area for me to plan vacations. With MIS so close, taking in a NASCAR practice or race and then enjoying a boat ride on the lake or walk on the beach make the Irish Hills a great place to get away. Families, couples, race fans and outdoorsmen can enjoy the year-round variety that this Southern Michigan town has to offer.
