» stockfamly - Need info on RV Washer/Dryers

My son is a USMC pilot just stationed at Camp Pendleton CA and needs info on RV living...specifically washer/dryer options. He's looking to purchase a 34'-38' 5th wheel and doesn't know what to look for. He also has questions on whether he can hook up a standard washer and dryer in the garage of the RVs with the toy hauler option. Anyone with info or experience in these ares or with ideas out there?

There are a lot of campgrounds that will not let you use your washers..It puts an extra load on their septic system...Next point is the washer dryers that usually come in an rv are small compaired to a home washer. To answer your question about hooking up a washer and dryer in the garage of your hauler...NO DON"T DO IT 2 reasions 1. you are going to have to plum in water (hot and cold) also sewer pipes would have to be run. Now for the power your washer and dryer will have to have power run to them the washer Im saying 20 amp would be suffice BUT the dryer uses a 50 amp 220 volt circuit by itself. There are a lot of older parks out there that only provide 30 amp. 50 is now the norm but these are 110 volt circuits. Don't do it it's more trouble than it's worth
